The advantages of doing EFT with a trained Advanced EFT Practitioner
It is easy to learn EFT and use it on daily issues. With persistence you can solve many smaller blocks. However, when you work on deep seated emotional issues it can be very helpful to work with another person. We can be blind to our own issues or have mentally run through them so often that we cannot see new perspectives.

The advantage doing EFT with an experienced EFT practitioner such as Freya is that you have a partner trained in listening deeply. Freya uses her unique detective skills to uncover aspects that influence the effectiveness of EFT. She can help you gently through difficult stages and use advanced EFT techniques when needed. Working with Freya provides you with the insight and accountability needed to make consistent progress.

Short EFT Procedure

  1. Identify the problem or issue. Think about a specific situation that is emotionally challenging. Experience how you feel about the problem or issue. For instance, say you have a fear of public speaking. Envision a situation where you give a talk and
  2. Rate the intensity. How distressed are you about the issue or problem right now. Rate it 0-10 (10 = highly distressed).
  3. Next formulate your “set up sentence,” using the basic format: “Even though (state problem/issue), I deeply and profoundly accept and love my self.” Examples:
    • Even though I get sweaty palms and nausea when I give a speech, I deeply and profoundly accept and love my self.
    • Even though I feel judged by the audience and belief they will laugh at me, I deeply and profoundly accept and love my self.
    • Even though I get paralyzed by the thought of giving a speech, I deeply and profoundly accept and love my self.
  4. Then tap the “Karate chop” point 7 to 10 times with the four fingers of your dominant hand (see schematic below) while speaking the set up sentence out loud.
  5. Repeat the set up sentence out loud 3 times while tapping the Karate chop point.
  6. Tap on each of the following points 7 to 10 times with the index and middle finger of your dominant hand while saying a reminder phrase, e.g. “afraid of public speaking” or “feeling paralyzed when giving a speech”:
    a) Eyebrow
    b) Side of eye
    c) Under eye
    d) Under nose
    e) Chin
    f) Collarbone
    g) Under arm
    h) Under breast
    i) Karate chop
    j) Repeat tapping series (a through j) one more time.
  7. Rate the problem again. Think about the problem (Fear of Public Speaking) and rate your intensity on a scale 0 to 10.
  8. Decide if the result needs more work or if your distress is significantly less. It is best to bring the result, e.g. anxiety, to zero on the scale. This can be done immediately or at a later time point.
  9. If your emotional distress is still above zero, look for other aspects or angles. These could be other feelings (anxiety, shyness, intimidation) or thoughts (I am not funny enough, smart enough, I am not a great speaker) about the problem, or it could be physical reactions, e.g. a knot in your stomach, dry mouth, shaking, etc.
  10. Then create a new set up sentence: “Even though I get a knot in my stomach and dry mouth when I think about public speaking, I deeply and profoundly accept and love my self anyway.“
  11. Repeat the EFT Sequence starting with the Karate chop and go through the whole sequence described above.
  12. Put it to the test. The best way to determine the success of the EFT treatment is to test the issue. In case of fear of public speaking, think about volunteering for a public presentation. How do you feel now about it?

And then the ultimate test: give a presentation.

Please note:
My PhD is in human biology where I specialized in cancer research, but I am not a medical doctor, licensed physical or mental health professional, or therapist. My spiritual path has led me to become a trained Leadership Coach, Advanced EFT Practitioner, and ordained minister interested in techniques that help my clients become the leaders of their lives. If your condition requires the specialized attention of an MD or licensed psychologist, I recommend that you work with an appropriately trained therapist or doctor of your choice.
While EFT has produced remarkable clinical results, it must still be considered to be in the experimental stage and thus practitioners and the public must take complete responsibility for their use of it. Please consult qualified health practitioners regarding any mental or physical health conditions you may have and your use of EFT.
